I've been given so many gifts in this life - caring parents, an awesome education in both the US & Europe, traveling a good bit of the world for both business and pleasure, and the opportunity to live abroad for a few years - integrating languages, cultures, and slices of life from local perspectives. I've also been given the privilege of teaching some of what I know in both formal educational settings and informal ones. It's been one of the most rewarding parts of my entire life. Now that I've been challenged with an advanced non-hodgkins lymphoma and my view of time has changed from decades to something less, I want to accomplish a few important goals (like writing 1 if not 2 of the books that colleagues, friends, family and acquaintances alike have all told me i need to do) as well as squeeze in some travel to see my closest of friends, some geographically distant family, several cool activities/hobbies that are a part of me...and perhaps find some cool ways to pass along the wonderful experience that this life has been.
