Reading sparked my initial interest in surfing years ago. I read a little bit about it in a book somewhere, it's been so long that I've now forgotten which book, so I first fell in love with the idea of surfing. I've waited years just to get my hands on a board. New Jersey waves aren't impressive, but that's where I started off a few weeks ago after signing myself and a friend up for a lesson. It was surprisingly even better than I had expected, and now that I'm officially a beginner the goal is competance. Corinne
