In April of 2023 after over 8 years of having them on after braces, Dr. Lyon and team removed my 2 spikes behind my two front teeth. It is such a relief. I still wear my retainer every night and even though Dr. Garcia said he recommend I wear them for life, Dr. Lyon said she never knew anyone to have them on over 2 years. I'm so glad she did it. I feel almost naked in my mouth now especially with my roof of my mouth having permanent numbness from the jaw surgery, but it is lighter and worth it. Angie
