Glass Floors were installed in each Walkway in 2014, offering a unique view of the Bridge and River Thames below. I went in December of 2014 right when they first put them in. It was so cool to walk across at sunset to see during the light and then right at night. The bridge is unique and beautiful. The East Walkway offers stunning views of the Docklands, Canary Wharf and Greenwich while the West Walkway showcases sights of the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Shard and the City. When it was built, Tower Bridge was the largest and most sophisticated bascule bridge ever completed ('bascule' comes from the French word for 'seesaw' (1894) Angie
