I loved Mr. Lasiter's house the moment we went to it. When he stepped down and moved to Ruidoso, he allowed Nathan and I to rent it. It was a little over a year that I stayed there with Nathan and a little after he died. Bowzer would always drop her ball in the pool and I was always sunbathing topless, lounging in a hammock tied to the largest palm trees and doing slackline, hula and stand up paddleboard yoga around the waterfall in the secluded and large backyard. I would drink cayman jack margaritas in the jetted hot tub and gaze at the stars and tops of the palms. Some of the most beautiful mexican birds would fly over head as they were migrating and I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the best. Hummingbirds and playtime with bowzer. Even Mario. I wish I had just bought the house even though people advised I moved so I wouldn't be stuck with the memories of Nathan and be sad...I loved those memories and the ones with Mr. Lasiter, Bonnie, fancy, Anita and other department heads at McAllen country club. I loved discovering the Tajin lime chili salt that Bonnie put on everything. It was really delicious on plums. William had the best (well 3rd best literally) brisket. I never thought I'd like it. I discovered frito pie (chili covered fritos) at south padre island with Nathan (and everywhere after). Nathan and I got sick to our stomach off of tamales (which i never knew weren't just peppers much like truffles not just being chocolate which I learned much later lol). They were buy a dozen get a dozen half off so we did pork and chicken. The corn husk baking was the best part, but the lard coating really got us sick haha, but the sauce was to die for. Greens and lemons was the best vegan restaurant. I'd go there with Leslie sometimes...even after Nathan passed she took me there right after and tried cheering me up a bit. I loved pet sitting for Julia and Mark and Mimi took me to her horse ranch where I did horseback yoga and learned about her dressage. I loved the chitza mazalan...so beautiful. The Mission trails where I trained for the century ride, saw road runners and other wildlife, held hands rollerblading with Justin and often did runs together with Nathan also the bicentennial runs and bike trail....uh so many more amazing Mcallen/south texas memories. It was amazing . It truly was my favorite part of life and I will cherish it always. Angie
