In 2017 after I trekked EBC in Nepal, just three of us trekked to the top of Kala Patthar the next day. Kala Patthar (Nepali: काला पत्थर, lit. 'black rock') is a notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori in the Nepali Himalayas above Gorakshep. It's the highest altitude (18,519 ft) most will reach without a climbing permit, which must be obtained in Kathmandu.
