The Way of St. James is the pilgrimage route to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the apostle Saint James are buried. The most popular trail, the Camino Francés, is approximately 780 km. Ever since reading Paulo Coelho's The Pilgrimage I've dreamed of giving my life to the journey for a month not just for the beauty and simplicity of the landscape, but for the spiritual awareness and serenity that I hope it will invoke. One day, it will happen. Hopefully soon.
